Burnley will look for their first league win since the appointment of Brian Laws, while Chelsea will attempt to continue their steamrollering of the Premierleague.
Burnley haven t exactly struggled since Brian Laws took charge, with only a couple of tough games under their belt, but they face another very challenging afternoon at home to Chelsea. The Squad looks to be in good shape ovrall, but I think Burnley will miss the experience and quality of Caldwell and Bikey in defence, with both suffering from injuries. The Burnley players will be looking to impress their new coach with the january window drawing to a close, and I think we might see a real battling performance from the players.
Chelsea s season goes from strength to strength and any neutral would expect to see them picking up points here. Deepdale can be an intimidating ground to visit but we ve already seen some great performances on the road from Chelsea this season. Most players have now returned from the African Cup of Nations too and only Boswinga, Beletti, Mikel and Essien are unavailable from the entirety of their enormous first team squad. Competition for places is probably at a high for the season and any players picked will need to make sure their performance warrants selection in the following game. This game will probably see the return of Didier Drogba which will only put more fear into the opposition s minds. After an unsuccessful performance by the Ivory Coast in Africa, Drogba will be looking forward to doing what he does best: terrorising defences and knocking in the goals.
Despite the fight and spirit of the Burnley team, I can only see one outcome this weekend.
Verdict: Chelsea Away Win
